Just a little tip: No this has not happened to me, I am going to prevent it from though.
When you take digitals remember to store them on a cd and and and you can use internet programs out there such as www.photobucket.com, www.shutterfly.com www.snapfish.com . Remember do not totally depend on your computer. Remeber if you computer crashes you just may lose all your pictures. So be safe.....

I learned this lesson the hard way once... I now have an external hard drive that is not attached to any computer unless I am putting information into it... I down load the whole drive twice a year to DVD or CD... The external Drives are cheap now and well worth the effort... I have a Western Digital 120 GB and I think it runs $120.00... Great Idea Callie... :o)
