Trials of Parenting and Family

So the weekend was pretty uneventful. It's only 30 degrees out this morning. For some reason I really am feeling old this morning. Aching all over, slugish, waiting for the coffee to brew. Have no Idea if it will help this morning.

Here is a little didy I found for my brother:

They... threw themselves into the interests of the rest, but each plowed his or her own furrow. Their thoughts, their little passions and hopes and desires, all ran along separate lines. Family life is like this - animated, but collateral. ~Rose Macaulay

To Me Parenting and family is the following:

We all go out and make mistakes. That's how we learn how far we can fly or where and when we should rest. Parenting is not critical. It is supportive. When we fall, it helps to pick us up, brush us off, give us a hug, telling us how much we love and care about them. Parenting doesn't scream, it calmly gives it's opinion on something and watches in amazment what our children decide to do with that knowledge. Sometimes they run straight into the wall, but we still love them. We hope upon hope they chose the right road. We let them know our roads we went down, but somehow they think they can do it better so they follow our old path. At least then we know what they are feeling. Family is the love we need and crave. Be sweet to your children and family. Don't be critical. It just makes them not want to share their wonderful life with you. ~Callie

Yall have a good day now.
