What the Hell?

The other week while visiting my grandparents whom have Alzheimer's... The question was asked by the Doctor.....

First I ask shouldn't a doctor that you have been seeing at least 10 times know whether you use a hearing aid or not?

My grandmother has determined that someone stole her purse out of her locked bedroom. It's a condition of Alzheimer one gets. They get paranoid that people are stealing their things. My grandmother locks her bedroom and wears a key-fob around her wrist... So while out of the room one day someone has stolen her purse... In the meantime she hides things all the time, from herself and everyone else... She is so good at it... (Don't get excited about the Purse. We have found things thrown around her room, stashed here and there that belonged in that damned purse... She was also upset that my grandfather blamed her for the purse being stolen... My Grandfather whom can't tell if it's day or night??? I think not... When asked about the event he replied..."I don't know" and smiled...) She could hide all the easter eggs for an kids hunt... the only way you would find them is by following the rotten smell... week's later!! HA!

She once hid my cousin's key to her car for 6 months... someone decided to dust the furniture picked up a lamp with no bottom... and there "The Stolen Caper of the Missing Key" was solved... inside the lamp... Well Gosh darn it!

Anyway sense she couldn't talk a squirrel into a reasonable discussion... she proceeded to tell the doctor about this "Stolen Purse Caper"... My grandmother screaming at the soft spoken Doctor.... about this event was asked many times to calm down.... replying... What????.... finally out of exhaustion the Doctor asked "Why don't you have your hearing aids on".... Grandma replied "What??"... I replied to the Doctor "She doesn't have any!!!!".... The Doc didn't know what to say... she left the room... my aunt and I laughed like hell... it's was mighty damn funny

My Grandma has very precise selective hearing. Some days she can hear every damned thing you say... other times you could scream with a cone right into her eardrum and she would stare dumb founded straight ahead.... People thinks she plays games... I think she nutt's... but I love her dearly :)
