Two Idiots take a Five month old to the Pumpkin Patch

So we get in the car and off to Grandpa's Pumpkin Patch we go. All the while thinking we are bringing Jack on an wonderful adventure.

So we get there Jack is looking around. Obviously we are a little to late the place looks like a war zone. Smashed rotten pumpkins everywhere. The ground is moist from the recent rains.
So we are going around selecting pumpkins for a photo op for Jack's pumpkin pics. He is cooperating very nicely. So we prop him on these here pumpkins and Jess is going to get on the ground behind him for a pic. Well, she went to crouch and yelled out Oh no!!! She goes to push herself up using the pumpkins for leverage all the while I am looking at her to see what's the matter. Next thing I know I scream and Jack is doing a FACE PLANT right into the stickery, muddy, rotten pumpkin ground. It was terrible. We raced to pick him up. Smashed pumpkin seeds on his face, dirt in his mouth, up his nose. It was terrible. He wailed away. Good Gosh what a terrible adventure for the poor kid. Stupid Adults.
So that was the pumpkin patch story. I somehow wanted a better story than this reality one.

This was poor Jack after the face plant and cleaning up. Poor BABY!!

I love the story! That is a true love, first born story! I have some wonderful stories like that and if you dig back in memory you have some of Jess too! You still got the picture, so be sure to scrap the factoids too... Love you all, Shann :o) Made me smile it did, great story for a great kid! And as my Dad would say "Ya Gotta Eat a Ton of Dirt Before You Die"...

How fun. Poor Jack. We try to do the right thing for our Grandbabies and many times end up just as you did. My Grandchildren and I are going to the pumpkin patch in front of Safeway tomorrow just sounds alot easier and cleaner. It is not like they have not done the pumpkin patch thing. But the little ones grow up just fine inspite of their Grandmas good intentions. Thanks for a first of the morning laugh.

Hey Cal,

Thanks for the real story....it is a lot funnier than the perfect pumpkin patch one. It will go down as Jack's good ol days. And speaking of dumb adults and first babies.....Shann and I had Cody all bundled up he was about 5 months old and he was in his carseat just a hollering. So we think he is unhappy about the carseat....talk about stupid...we had zipped his little soft tummy up in the zipper of his coat. Now that is STUPID....but he survived and we learned and little Miss. Chelsea was spared that mistake.
Oh and remember what your Uncle Wes says ...."ya have to eat a ton of dirt before ya die"....so think of it as Jack's first serving of dirt!
