Home Sweet Home #5

It's Cold in Oregon Again. We hit Record Cold for a June 5th today. We are in the low 50's. I actually wore a hoody to work today.. brrrr. At least the heat is working good at home now. So let's see what will I say about home today.

Okay let's go. How many times have your children moved back home? I think Jessica moved back 3 times and Justin moved back 3 times. I still called my parents house home, as long as they were in the final home that I lived in when I moved out. Our Family's base home was in Pollock Pines California which is about 50 some miles from Sacramento on Highway 50 on the way to Lake Tahoe. That was always home.

Well, Mom and Dad moved from there about 8 years ago. I have been in Oregon for 20 years now this month. So I really feel kind of lost sometimes when it comes to real home. Do you know what I mean? My mom always had the family dinners, the holidays, the summer vacations at the house in Pollock Pines. I miss that place. The trees are amazing up there, so much different than Oregon. I miss the smell of the trees. I grew up there, I will always miss it.

Now it seems are family is all over the place... Oregon, California, Las Vegas, Illinois, Arizona, Texas... Sometimes I long for a Walton's Mountain type life and then I get over it, quick.

Mom!
I soooo miss the Pollock Pines House too! When I think of Home thats what I picture in my head. The lawn, the driveway, the crazy crack sound from the kitchen floor tat let ANYONE ANYWHERE in the house know someone was in the kitchen! and the sound of the trash compactor and the way granny's dishes sounded when placed on the counter, and the ding of the microwave. I remeber the feel of the carpet and the stairs and the smell of Vanilla and good food. I miss the family meals. And Poppy's chair. I miss waffles with CRUNCHY Peanut butter and syryp. Oh Mom your post has made my heart ache for our home. If I ever had enough money I would buy that place back! i don't care what price, I would pay it if I could to be able to have that house. It would be a happy home. I think it would have been really cool for Jack and Brighton to have known our home. DANG Granny and Poppy for selling it!!!!!! :(

I love Pollock Pines. How cool that was home for you. I don't want to go back to Tillamook, Oregon. That's where I was born. I didn't much care for it. I'm just not a farm girl. Have a great weekend sweetie. Big hug and lotsa lovies. :)
